A Productive Team Meeting and a Festive Christmas Dinner
Today, in Ngoma, our team gathered for a productive meeting led by our Managing Director and Operations Manager. Attended by our dedicated team of agronomists, field supervisors, and our accountant, the meeting served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, open dialogue, and team building.
The Managing Director began by expressing his sincere gratitude for the team's trust and unwavering commitment to Ganura and our chia seed business. He emphasized that they are the true ambassadors of our company, representing us directly with the farmers and playing a crucial role in the success of our operations.
Our accountant reminded the team of the importance of meticulous record-keeping. Emphasizing the need for proper bookkeeping practices, she stressed the significance of accurate financial records for the company's growth and sustainability.
After a productive discussion, we enjoyed a well-deserved lunch together, allowing for informal socializing and camaraderie among team members.
Following lunch, our Operations Manager highlighted the critical importance of implementing the right agricultural practices. He emphasized the need to combat erosion, ensure proper plant spacing, utilize effective manure application, and optimize seed saving techniques to maximize productivity. Harvesting strategies and best practices were also thoroughly discussed.
Our field supervisors provided valuable insights, highlighting the importance of assisting farmers with essential resources such as purchasing necessary sheeting. They also emphasized the importance of adhering to the pre-payment system implemented following the previous chia crisis, ensuring timely payments to farmers before harvest.
The Managing Director reiterated the significance of professional conduct and ethical behavior. He emphasized that our field officers are the face of Ganura and that their interactions with farmers directly reflect on our company's reputation. He made it clear that any form of misconduct would not be tolerated.
The Managing Director also introduced the new guidelines issued by NAEB (National Agricultural Export Board) for chia seeds. These guidelines were well-received by the team as they will bring much-needed order and transparency to the sometimes chaotic chia value chain.
The Managing Director expressed his gratitude once again and extended his heartfelt wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the entire team. To commemorate the occasion, we captured a group photo and enjoyed some refreshments while engaging in further networking and team building activities.
Overall, it was a long but incredibly productive and rewarding day. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for our team to connect, learn, and prepare for a successful year ahead.
